COACH MULLER TO HAVE CHARGE OF UNIVERSITY CREWS FOR REST OF YEAR

SCHEDULE NEXT SPRING CALLS FOR THREE RACES

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At a meeting of the Graduate Rowing Committee held on Saturday, November 11, it was definitely decided that Mr. Frank J. Muller, who has been coach of the two University crews this fall, should continue in the same capacity next spring.

The following members of the Rowing Committee were present at the meeting: Captain A. H. Ladd Jr. '22; Mr. John Richardson '08, Chairman; Major F. W. Moore '93, Graduate Manager of the Athletic Association; Dr. R. H. Howe Jr. '01, Director of Rowing; Mr. C. B. Wood '98; Mr. F. L. Higginson Jr. '00; Mr. W. E. Ladd '02; Mr. O. D. Filley '06; Mr. Leverett Saltonstall '14; Mr. H. B. Cabot Jr. '17.

Successful Work With First Crew

Coach Muller's work with the two University crews this fall has clearly demonstrated the benefits which may be obtained by such specialization and division of work among members of the coaching staff. Retaining complete control of the two first eights throughout the autumn, Coach Muller has succeeded in developing a first crew of unusual strength, as was evidenced last Friday when it rowed a consistent race against keen competition in the Basin, and finished with an ample lead over the other contending eights.

The schedule that the first crew will be called upon to meet next spring has not yet been definitely settled, but it is sure to consist of only three races.

Early in May University A will journey to Princeton to meet the Orange and Black and Annapolis oarsmen on Lake Carnegie in the annual Triangular Regatta. Later in the month Cornell will test its strength against the Crimson eight on the Charles, and the season will be concluded with the annual races against Yale at New London late in June. The dates of these races have yet to be approved by the Athletic Committee.
