Applications for the Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford for 1923-24 are due at University 5 today. President Lowell will pick from the applicants an indefinite number on the basis of: (1) qualities of manhood, force of character and leadership; (2) literary and scholastic ability and atainments; (3) physical vigor as shown by interest in outdoor sports or in other ways. The final selections will be made by the State Committees on December 2.
To be eligible for a Rhodes Scholarship in 1923-24 a man must be an unmarried citizen of the United States with at least five years domicile. He must have been born between October 1, 1898, and October 1, 1904; and by October 1, 1923, he must have completed at least his Sophomore year at some recognized degree-granting university or college of the United States. Men who are interested in the scholarships may obtain further information at President Lowell's office or from Professor R. K. Hack, Kirkland Court, Kirkland street.
