The Chess Club began its season last night with an open meeting at the Union, at which about seventy-five men from all departments of the University entered the tournament for places on the University team. The Freshman interdormitory tourney for the Kenna cup was also begun. This trophy is to be awarded for the first time in seven years. Players in both tournaments will be allowed to finish their matches at their convenience in the Quiet Room of the Union where the Club's rank list will be posted.
