UNIVERSITY CREWS HAVE STIFF ROW ON CHARLES

Examinations again hampered work on the river yesterday, but with a few exceptions the two University crews went out with the same seating-order as that used on Monday.

M. W. McGreevy '24 was the only substitute on Crew A, taking the place of Parker Hamilton '24 at number 6 on that eight. S. N. Brown, '24 was absent from Crew B, his stroke position being held temporarily by B. R. Wiesman '25, while J. O. Bangs '25 took Wiesman's former seat at number 2.

Yesterday afternoon's work-out was one of the stiffest prescribed by Coach Muller since he assumed charge of the two University eights Each was given a long row down river and a higher stroke was tried for the greater part of the distance. The finish is one of the phases of the stroke which is being especially emphasized at present, and the University oarsmen are beginning to show a marked advance in this department.

The majority of the class and 150-pound crews were kept idle by examinations but Coaches E. J. Brown '96 and William Haines expect a full turn-out of their charges their afternoon.

Work for the Freshman squad took much the same form as that detailed for Monday afternoon. Owing to the examinations there were fewer crews on the river than previously, but Coach Bert Haines' indoor force remained practically infact. D. B. Hull SS.A. and Wendell Davis '20 had charge of the 1926 eights yesterday.
