The squash racquets trial matches were begun yesterday afternoon and will be continued until Thursday, November 2, when the team will be tentatively picked. Beginning next Monday, October 31, Coach Henry Cowles will be in regular attendance at the Squash Courts. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays he will give half-hour periods of instruction to men on the squad, who may sign up on a time schedule now posted at the Squash Courts. On Tuesdays and Thursdays he will be able to give private lessons to other members of the University, who are also expected to sign up for hours on a time schedule at the Squash Courts. Among the most promising candidates this year are Carroll Harrington '24, who was number one man on team B last year, R. C. Bostwick '24, F. I. Carpenter '24, and C. C. Colt '24, all of whom were regulars on team B last winter. Of last year's Freshmen who showed up well in the tournaments and trial matches, Palmer Dixon '25 appears to be a logical contender for a berth on team A, while A. L. Smith '25 should also make a good showing this season.
