Mr. H. R. Hardwick '15, who played three years on the University football team and was all-American end in 1914, will speak on the modern game of football in the Living Room of the Union on Wednesday, November 1, at 8 o'clock.

He will illustrate his talk with over 50 lantern slides showing incidents in former University games. These slides have been especially selected to show the different formations of the attack and the defence, and as each play will be completely analyzed, an opportunity will be given to understand the fundamentals of football tactics. Moving pictures of the University team in action against other colleges, including a film of the Yale game last year, will also be shown through the courtesy of the H. A. A. This will be the first opportunity for men in the University to see these films and slides, and to hear an expert's explanation of the "Haughton system".

Mr. Hardwick started his Sophomore year as halfback on the University eleven, and played at this position until the Princeton game, when he was shifted to end. He played alternately at back and end for the rest of his college career. During the three years that he was on the team, the University defeated Yale 20-0, 15-5, and 36-0. Mr. Hardwick played on the baseball nine for three seasons, and was Captain in his Senior year. During his last year at College he also won his letter in track.
