Lieutenant-Colonel Theodore Roosevelt '08 and Mr. James Montgomery Beck will be the guests, of honor of the Republican Club tomorrow and will speak at the Union at 7.45 Mr. Louis Arthur Coolidge '83, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, will preside at the meeting, which is open to members of the Union and of the Republican Club.

Preceding the addresses, the committees of the Republican Club will give a dinner for its guests in the Faculty Room of the Union.

Colonel Roosevelt, who will speak first, has been prominent in business, political, and military affairs ever since his graduation from the University. In 1919 he was elected to the legislature of New York state, giving up his business connections.

Twice Wounded in Action

Since the inauguration of President Harding, Colonel Roosevelt has served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy. He has had an able military record, and was wounded while in action with the First Army. He took an active part in the recent Washington Conference as one of the naval tactical advisers.

Mr. Beck was admitted to the bar in 1884, four years after his graduation from Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In 1896 he became United States Attorney for the eastern district of Pennsylvania, and for four years during the administration of President Roosevelt '80 he was Assistant Attorney General of the United States. He was appointed to his present position as Solicitor-General in 1921.
