The first meeting for men in the University interested in sculling was held yesterday evening at the Varsity Club, with Dr. Howe and Coach Edward Wachter as the chief speakers.

The rapid rise in popularity of single sculling was emphasized by Dr. Howe, who briefly sketched the progress of this branch of rowing at the University and announced future plans. Coach Wachter spoke of the Regatta to be held on October 26.

The coxswains of all crews, University, Class and Freshman, will meet this evening at 7.15 o'clock in Smith Halls Common Room. Dr. Howe, who was coxswain of the University Four-Oar when in college, will speak to the men about their positions and duties.
