STATEMENT ISSUED CONCERNING EXAMS IN MODERN LANGUAGES

College Office Announces that French and German Examinations Will be Given on January 16 and 17

A statement concerning the requirements in modern languages has been issued by the College Office and is as follows:

"The oral examinations in French and German Prescribed for Students who entered Harvard College before June, 1920, will be given on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 17.

"All candidates must apply, in writing, at 4 University Hall, on or before Thursday, January 12. Each Candidate will then be notified when and where to present himself for examination.

"To meet the requirement of a reading knowledge of French or German there examinations may be taken by students who entered Harvard College after June. 1920, provided that the student has already tried the written examination to test reading knowledge.

"For students who entered Harvard College after June, 1920, the examinations to test elementary knowledge of French and German will be held on Monday, January 16, at 5 P. M., in Emerson D.

"Candidates should apply, in writing, at 4 University Hall, on or before Saturday, January 14.
