At the elimination round in the debate for the Pasteur medal, held recently, each candidate made a five minute speech on the subject: Resolved, that the army program of France as announced at the Disarmament Conference is justifiable, three members of the French Department, Professor L. J. A. Mercier, presiding, Professor R. L. Hawkins, and Mr. E. L. Raiche, being the judges. As a result of these trials the following men were retained:
1. B. H. Kuhns '22.
2. P. R. Harmel '23.
3. H. W. Hardy '22.
4. H. J. Friendly '23.
5. S. A. Rosenblatt 1L.
6. E. D. Hutchinson '22.
These six men will be eligible for the final Pasteur debate, the date for which has been set for February 16. The contest is to be held in the Music Building and each of the six candidates will speak for ten minutes, in the order listed.
The subject will be the same. Men are to be allowed free choice of either side of the topic, and full details concerning times and judges will be announced as soon as arrangements have been completed.
