UNIVERSITY APPOINTMENT OFFICE OFFERS POSITIONS IN FAR EAST

Canton Christian College and Student Volunteer Movement for Foreign Missions Need Teachers for Next Year

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Appointment Office at University 11 has recently received two letters in regard to teaching positions in the Far East.

One from Mr. Burton St. John of the Student Volunteer Movement for Foreign Missions states that: "The larger proportion of the positions for government schools in China have been filled through the Foreign Department of the Y. M. C. A., but there is in connection with the Chinese Legation in Washington an Educational Commission and a few men each year are selected by this Commission for posts in the government schools of China".

"Seeking Qualified Teachers"

The other letter was from Mr. C. K. Edmunds, President of the Canton Christian College, who says: "We are seeking properly qualified teachers for the College of Arts and Sciences to begin service for the next academic year in September 1922, in the following departments: Physics, Economics, Business Administration, English, Mathematics, and one teacher who will carry both French and German. For the instructors in languages, we want only Americans, but in the other departments properly qualified Chinese are desired, especially if they have had previous experience as teachers".

Those who are interested in the positions mentioned may see the letters and obtain more detailed information at the University Appointment Office, 11 University Hall.
