At the suggestion of Dean E. H. Smith of the Dental School, attention of Freshmen, who may be intersted in dentistry is called to the fact that the Harvard Dental School now admits only men who have had at least one year of college work, including English, Chemistry and Biology, as well as an elective course chosen from among the following: a modern foreign language, mathematics, history, technical drawing and shop practice. Men must also have taken one year of work in physics, either in school or in college, to be admitted to the Dental School.

This new requirement has been put into effect this year for the first time. It was adopted by agreement between the dental departments of a number of universities throughout the country as a means of raising the level and improving the general quality of dental education.

Dean Smith advises Freshmen who are thinking of taking up the dental profession to arrange their courses this year before it is too late so as to meet the new requirements.
