RED JERSEYS SCORE FIVE GOALS AGAINST COACH KNOX'S SECONDS

COACH FISHER SENDS ELEVEN MEN TO SECOND SQUAD

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Showing the best attack and defence of any practice game to date, the University eleven smashed through Coach Knox's second team line for five touchdowns yesterday afternoon in the Stadium. Coach Fisher's red-jerseyed linesmen gave an especially fine exhibition of offensive play, charging the opposing scrubs with much more power than that shown in the Boston University game. The excellence of the Crimson defence was shown twice when the scrubs were given the ball on the 10-yard line On each occasion it took the seconds nearly ten downs to go across for a score.

The first score for the Crimson eleven came directly after a second team fumble on its own seven-yard line, F. J. Johnson '22 at quarterback sending Vinton Chapin '23 around left end for the touchdown on the first play. A few minutes later Chapin scored again as a direct result of another fumble on the part of the black-jerseyed players. Johnson kicked both the goals after these touchdowns.

Owen Scores After Pass

The third University score was made after C. C. Buell '23 had succeeded Johnson at quarterback, Buelf threw a pass to George Owen Jr. '23 when the Crimson players were in the middle of the field. The latter caught it on the run and was not stopped until he had covered 25 yards. Coach Fisher's men continued to gain ground and when the ball was within 10 yards of the seconds' goal line Owen went over for a touchdown.

K. S. Pfaffman '24, substituting at fullback, made both the last two touchdowns for the University. On the first occasion he carried the ball through from the six-yard line. On the second he started the Crimson attack by tossing a pass to A. J. Conlon '22 at quarterback. Conlon ran to the 15-yard line. Here Pfaffman broke loose on the first play only to be called back on account of an offside. However, on the fourth play he tore through for the final score.

Johnson Starts at Quarter

Coach Fisher made several shifts in Team A's line-up yesterday afternoon. Johnson started the scrimmage at quarterback in the place of Buell, A. H. Ladd '23 at tackle instead of C. J. Hubbard '24, and H. S. Grew Jr. at left guard for W. G. Brocker '22.

P. B. Kunhardt '23 was still out with a wrenched knee, Standish Bradford '24 taking his place at center. Coach Fisher sent in Team B in the middle of the scrimmage. R. P. Field '22 and Edgar Crosby '23 took the wings. B. M. Henry '24 and A. L. Hobson '24 the tackle positions, and Arthur Anthony '23 and C. J. Hubbard '24 the guard assignments. D. S. Holder '24 was put in at center. The backfield lined up with Buell at quarterback. Francis Rouillard '23 and W. F. Churchill '23 at halfback, and Percy Jenkins '24 at full back.

Coach Fisher sent eleven men down to the second team squad yesterday. They were: C. B. Cooper '24, C. K. Cummings '23, A. R. Giroux '24, J. M. Hartley '23, H. B. Humphrey '22, D. McK. Key '22, C. C. Lee '23, E. K. McCagg '24, E. M. Rubin '22, M. W. Self '23, and Bayard Wharton '22, G. W. Tower '23, a transfer student last year from Columbia, reported to Coach Fisher for the first time this afternoon. Tower will be used at either guard or tackle.
