HIGH SCHOOLS TO MEET ON STADIUM TRACK

The first annual outdoor track meet of the Massachusetts High School Athletic Association will take place at 2 o'clock this afternoon on the Stadium track. The holding of the meet on Soldiers Field has been made possible by the cooperation of the H. A. A., which will award a trophy in the form of a silver cup to the winning school. This will become the permanent possession of the school which first wins it five times. The H. A. A. will also entertain the entrants and officials at an informal luncheon at 12 o'clock in the East Tower of the Stadium. W. J. Bingham '12, coach of the University track team, will address the gathering.

The meet, which is an innovation this year, is being held for the purpose of promoting acquaintance and good fellowship among the member schools, as well as of providing outdoor competition. Including the 880-yard relay race (220 yards for each runner), there will be ten events, the mile and two-mile races, and the pole-vault and hammer-throw contests being omitted. In the shot-put a twelve-pound weight will be used. Coach Bingham will referee the meet while several members of the University track team will act as judges and inspectors.

Twenty-three schools, represented by 216 athletes, will take part in the meet. The competing institutions are as follows: Boston Trade School, Brighton High, Brockton High, Cambridge Latin School, High School of Commerce, Dorchester High, Fairhaven High, Gloucester High, Haverhill High, Hyde Park High, Lynn Classical School, Lynn English School, Marlborough High, Mechanic Arts School, Medford High, New Bedford High, Newton High, Quincy High, Rindge Teehnical School, Wakefield High, Wareham High, Winthrop High and Woburn High
