Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
A crowd of about 17,000, one of the largest which has ever witnessed a track meet in the Stadium, saw the English High School Centenary Track Meet which was held yesterday afternoon. A long program of events was arranged, beginning with a baseball game between English High School and Boston Latin School. The game was called off on account of rain, and was played later in the afternoon, after the rest of the events had been run off. The final score of the game was: English High School, 12; Boston Latin School, 5.
The first track events were the finals of the High School Regimental Meet. Having already scored 30 points in the field events which were held some days ago, and holding a lead of 11 points over the nearest rival, the English High School cinched the meet yesterday by placing men in all the events, and scored enough points to win the title. Next were several Interscholastic events, in which students from high schools throughout the state were entered.
Ray Wins Invitation Mile
The open events, which were of the greatest interest to the outsider, were run off last. The invitation mile furnished the most thrills, with Ray, of the Illinois Athletic Club, Connolly of Georgetown, and J. W. Burke Unc., running for the B. A. A., the starters. All three runners kept together until the last lap, with the lead alternating between them. As the final quarter was entered, Connolly and Ray stepped out ahead, with Connolly in the lead. A bad wind hindered the men coming down the back-stretch, and Ray kept behind Connolly the whole distance, taking what shelter he could. The Chicago runner then came up even with his opponent on the turn, and gradually drew away from him on the homestretch, winning the race by about five yards.
E. O. Gourdin '21 had no difficulty in winning the 100-yard dash, and also the broad-jump. He was unfortunate in the jump, fouling all except two times. On one jump he covered 24 feet 7 inches, but it was declared a foul, and he was only credited with a jump of 23 feet 7 inches for first place.
