EXETER WINS SCHOOL TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Securing a total of seventeen points, the Phillips Exeter tennis team easily captured first honors in the annual Harvard Interscholastic Tournament which closed yesterday afternoon on Divinity Field. The individual championship also went to the New Hampshire schoolboys when W. W. Ingraham defeated Watson of Andover in three straight sets 6-3, 6-1, 6-1 in the finals of the tournament. This is the second consecutive year that Ingraham has won the Interscholastic title.

At the opening of yesterday's contests Exeter was already certain to win the tournament, having gained fifteen victories Monday. Yesterday morning Ingraham added another point by winning over Brigs of Brookline High 6-4, 6-3 in the semi-finals, and captured the last point for Exeter by overcoming Watson. The latter defeated Smith of Exeter in two semi-finals yesterday morning in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.

The Phillips Andover Academy won second place in the tournament with ten points. Country Day School and Brookline High each tied for third with three victories each, Worcester Academy captured two matches, and Cushing Academy. Newton High School and Boston Latin one apiece. Huntington School, Allen Military School and Woonsocket, R. I., High School failed to score.
