Lack of steadiness in the finishes caused the University tennis team to go down to a 6-3 defeat at the hands of the West Side Tennis Club of Forest Hills in a match played Saturday on the latter's courts. All but three of the matches went to three sets and were nip and tuck throughout. Captain de Turenne opposed W. M. Washburn, ranking player and member of the Davis Cup team, but although he played on the offensive most of the time, finally lost 7-5, 6-8, 6-3. Fenno and Feibleman were the Crimson victors in the singles, taking their matches 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-2 from Gayness and Bretz respectively. The last of the doubles also went to the University, Feibleman and Duane winning from Major and Parker, 7-5, 1-6, 8-6.
The University second team facing the Yale scrubs at New Haven also lost on Saturday, taking but two singles from the Elis, who captured the remaining singles and both doubles for a 5-2 victory.
