The University of California track team, which will be the strongest western bidder at the Intercollegiates May 27-28, arrived in Boston yesterday, and will hold their first work-out on the Stadium track either today or Monday. The California men will be the guests of the Athletic Association at the Princeton-University meet on Soldiers Field tomorrow.
Twelve of the best track performers in the country made the trip from the West. Among them are three members of last year's Olympic team; Captain A. B. Sprott, who has done the 880-yard run in 1 minute, 56 seconds; J. C. Majors with a record of 43 feet in the shotput; and H. P. Miller, who has cleared 6 feet, 3 1-8 inches in the high-jump. The other men on the California team are: O. O. Hendrixson and H. B. McDonald in the 440; R. Hutchinson in the 100; Kenneth Saunders in the 880; E. J. Mejia in the mile; Charles Dorr in the two-mile; H. B. Henderson in the hurdles; C. C. Mathews in the shot-put; and A. G. Norris in the pole-vault.
