Records indicate that there will be a very close contest this afternoon on Divinity Courts when the University tennis team meets the M. I. T. netmen at 4 o'clock. Records also point to a Crimson victory though it is sure that the Engineers will give strong competition in every match.
When the Princeton team was in Boston last week, it won from both the Crimson and Tech, the former going down by a 5-4 score, and the latter by 8-1. This comparison does not favor Tech in today's match but the Princeton team won its matches only after a hard fight in every case, the majority going to three sets each. Broockman, captain and number 1 man for Tech held the title as New England Intercollegiate Champion until defeated by Chapin, the Williams star. Other comparisons give the Crimson a like advantage, except in the case of the Brown team, which both of the teams which meet this afternoon defeated, 6-0.
The University team has struck its full mid-season stride, Saturday's match with the Tigers bringing out the finest form and power yet shown, Duane and Farnham especially surpassing expectations.
