TRACK TEAM SHOWS UNUSUAL SPIRIT

In the second day of "fight week" the University and Freshman track squads turned out in full yesterday afternoon on soldiers Field to go through preliminary practice for Saturday's meet with Yale. Every man participated in special conditioning runs specified by Coach Bingham and favorable times were made in practically every distance, the squad showing unusual sprit and interest for a mid-week practice. Intensive training for every man will continue till Friday when the University squad will leave for New Haven and the Freshmen will be given a day in which to rest. By this time Coaches Bingham and Farrell expect to have every member of both squads in the best possible condition.

University graduates, formerly track men, are al agreed that the chances for a University victory over Yale on Sat- urday are at least even. It is pointed out that although the tines made by Eli runners in the Princeton Yale meet last Saturday were in some cases better than those made by the Crimson men against M. I. T., the running conditions at Princeton were almost perfect, while the performers at the Stadium were hindered by a troublesome wind, and rather cold weather. Yet in several cases the University times excelled those of the Yale men.

In the opinion of many former Crimson runners who have been watching the practice at Soldiers Field, one of the outstanding features about the 1921 University and Freshman squads is their spirit and enthusiasm. "The Harvard track squad has recovered its old-time spirit. The 1921 team is going to New Haven on Saturday determined to win"--Such is the opinion expressed by W. F.
