Coach J. L. Knox '98, C. F. Havemeyer '21, and R. S. Humphrey '21 put the University spring football men through their first scrimmaging yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field. Teams A, B, and C played each other alternately for forty-five minutes, each eleven having two scrimmages, which resulted in no scoring for any of the teams. Team A, with H. B. Humphrey '22, who helped coach last fall's Freshman team, as quarterback pressed Team B hard, but was unable to make any extensive gains, but in its scrimmage with Team C. the first eleven had a distinct advantage, taking the ball at one time from the middle of the field to C's 20-yard left end, featuring on a forward pass, line in four plays with D. McK. Key '22 Team B also outplayed C, though very slightly. The elevens lined up as follows:
