As a result of the 36-hole elimination contest held at Oakley the week before vacation, eight men were chosen for the University golf team and seven for the Freshman. Of the eight on the University team, six won their letters last year; Captain F. MoN. Bacon '21, C. W. Baker '22, J. B. Fleming '22, Gerald Henderson '21 Durham Jones '22, and H. B. W. Snelling '21. G. G. Foling '23, last year's Freshman manager, and C. f. Havemeyer '22 are the other members of the team.
The first match of the University will be held this afternoon with the Weston Golf Club at Weston. Practice each day on the Oakley course has been very encouraging, Captain Bacon having turned in especially good scores.
The men who compose the Freshman team are as follows: L. F. Brigham, G. B. Carpenter, W. J. Fried, R. L. Frothingham, Carroll Harrington, R. M. Klein, P. G. Stevens.
