Dr. Spaeth, Princeton's crew coach; has been carrying on extensive experiments the past week with new sets of oars and a new make of shell. A departure from the usual custom has been made in securing the new sweeps, as Dr. Spaeth wishes to experiment with 7 1-2 pound oars instead of the regular 8 pound ones. The new ones have been made in England by Ted Shay of Cambridge. Ward of Philadelphia, who has always supplied Princeton heretofore, has furnished three new sets of 8 pound ones. In regard to this matter. Dr. Spaeth stated: "Never before have I had such an opportunity to carry on experimentation and I expect to continue it until the best combination of oars and shell can be obtained. I am comparing notes on them but have nothing to make public as yet.
