Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
At 8 o'clock tonight the fight for the boxing championships of the University will begin in the University Boxing Tournament at Hemenway gymnasium. The entries have been paired off and several close contests are promised. The referee and judges for the tournament were assigned yesterday by the state boxing commission. Larry Conley, instructor of boxing at the University will be the third man in the ring. The judges will be G. Edward Dixon of Cambridge and F. H. Lincoln of Denham. Fred Wood will act as timer with Dan Kelly of the Physical Training Department as announcer.
The bouts this year are expected to be exceptionally keenly contested, for three of the holders of last year's championships will attempt to retain their titles. E. D. Weatherhead '22, holder of last year's 160-pound title, will enter both the 160 and 175-pound classes. J. O. Stubbs '21, holder of last year's 135-pound title, will attempt to retain it. H. J. Freedman '23, who gained last year's title in the 125-pound class, will be hard put to hold it. The other material consists of last year's runners-up and the new men among whom Isador Shapiro '23, T. Strong Jr., F. R. McLeod 2G., E. W. Love '22, B. Lockwood '22 and S. J. Rosenblum Unc., have had some experience and are promising good hard work for the winners.
All Bouts to Be Fought Tonight
The bouts will consist of three two-minute rounds with a one-minute rest between each round. Students only will be permitted to act as seconds, each contestant being allowed two. For the first time ladies will be allowed as ringside spectators. The tournament will be fought straight through, the bouts being arranged so that men having to fight more than once will have some rest between bouts. The entries are paired as follows:
115-Pound Class.--L. E. Spivak vs. F. X. Collins.
125-Pound Class.--H. L. Freedman vs. Harry Brenner.
135-Pound Class.--John O. Stubbs, bye, D. Burstein vs. Isador Shapiro.
145-Pound Class.--C. H. Wansker vs. R. LeB. Daggett, F. R. McLeod vs. J. M. Begg, A. Brudno vs. Leon Rittenberg.
160-Pound Class.--T. Strong Jr. vs. W. Rodewald, E. D. Weatherhead vs. E. J. Rosenberg.
175-Pound Class.--E. D. Weatherhead vs. E. W. Love, S. J. Rosenblum vs. W. Rodewald.
Heavyweights.--Ben Lockwood vs. E. W. Felbleman.
