The Freshman swimming team succumbed to the speed of the Yale 1924 natators in the Carnegie Pool last Saturday afternoon, 44-9. None of the races were even closely contested, and C. C. Carpenter was the only Freshman to gain a first place. Captain Colgate of the Eli Yearlings was the individual star, amassing ten points in the 50 and 100-yard swims for his team. The summary:
50-Yard Dash.--Won by Colgate (Y.); second, Morgan (Y.); third, Potter (H.). Time, 27s.
Fancy Dive.--Won by McClellan (Y.); second, Frost (Y.); third, Spencer (H.).
220-Yard Dash.--Won by Ledyard (Y.); second, Stewart (Y.); third, Cummings (H.). Time, 2m 4-5s.
Plunge.--Won by Carpenter (H.); second, Bachman (Y.); third, Markle (Y.). Distance, 58ft.
100-Yard Dash.--Won by Colgate (Y.); second, Treppe (Y.); third, Potter (H.). Time, 1m, 2-5s.
200-Yard Relay Race.--Won by Yale (Frost, Freeman, Stuart, Morgan); second, Harvard (Cummings, Thomas, Delafield and Keyes). Time, 1m, 49s.
