Yesterday a delegation of fifty members from the Junior class of the Y. M. C. A. College at Springfield finished an extensive two-day study of the University's athletic and physical hygiene system by a visit to the Hemenway Gymnasium. Professor Elmore Berry, Coach of the Springfield football team and Assistant Director of the physical education courses at the college, led the delegation, the members of which are training for positions as physical directors, athletic coaches, and the like.
The fifty Springfield men first arrived in Cambridge Thursday when they were shown the Freshman Gymnasium, the Stadium, and all points of interest at Soldiers Field. While at the Freshman Gymnasium, Mr. W. H. Geer, head of the University's physical department, explained the most important features of the University exercise system; Mr. D. J. Kelley, Mr. Geer's assistant, covered the facts about managership competitions, the election of captains, and other similar details; and Mr. N. W. Fradd, who has charge of the work in the Freshman Gymnasium, outlined the prescribed exercise course for those Freshmen who were classed as "D" men after the physical examination last fall.
