The Chinese Minister to the United States, Dr. S. A. Alfred Sze, visited the University yesterday morning and was received by President Lowell.
Dr. Sze, who spoke Monday evening at a meeting in Boston on behalf of the China Famine Fund, arrived at University Hall shortly after 10.30, accompanied by R. F. Duncan '12, of the Famine Fund organization. After a few minutes' talk with President Lowell the Minister went to the Widener Library, where he was shown the Chinese collections and other features of the Library by Professor A. C. Coolidge '87, Director of the Library, whom he had met in Paris during the peace negotiations in 1919.
Dr. Sze was much interested to see the Library. He had studied at the University Summer School in 1901, long before the Widener Memorial Building was erected.
The Minister then drove to the house of President Eliot and paid him a call, leaving for New York on the one o'clock train.
