First Practice on Diamond Shows Many Likely Candidates

The first outdoor practice for the Freshman baseball squad was held yesterday on Soldiers Field and Coach Young, after giving the squad some fielding and batting practice, picked out two teams for a six-inning game. Before the time was up practically the entire squad had had an opportunity to play. A display of fair infield material was shown and a wealth of outfield talent. From first appearances the weakness of the squad will lie in the pitching department.

Scoring in the practice game was frequent, but loose playing rather than heavy hitting was the cause.
