Fordham College will send its hockey team to Boston to Meet the University seven on February 11, according to present indications. The New York team, which has proved itself one of the fastest teams in the East this winter, has been invited to fill the empty date in the Crimson schedule on the week-end of Lincoln's birthday, and will probably travel to the new Arena for the battle.
Fordham, possessing a powerful defensive combination in Jerry Noonan and MacPherson, has been uniformly successful to date, outdistancing Princeton 2-1 at the start of the season. Though their development has been severely handicapped by the small ice-area for practice, the New York players are expected to present as strong opposition to the Crimson as may be found in the East this winter.
Team Entrains for Yale
Captain E. L. Bigelow will lead his 1921 Crimson hockey squad southwards today to meet the Yale seven tomorrow night at the Ice Palace, Philadelphia. Most of the players are due to leave this afternoon for New York City and the remainder of the squad and the managers will follow on the midnight. Luncheon for the entire squad at the Harvard Club of New York is planned for tomorrow morning, after which the men will make the trip to Philadelphia.
Seven man hockey will be the rule in the three-game series with the Elis, the return contest being scheduled for the Boston Arena the evening of February 26.
