John Hodges Captains '23 Class Crew

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

According to an announcement of the crew management issued yesterday, John Hodges '23 of Cambridge was appointed captain of the Sophomore class crew to succeed R. H. Thayer '23, who has found it impossible to accept the position.

At the same time it was announced that May 21 had tentatively been fixed as the date for the race between the winning class crews from the University and from Yale.

In regard to the reports which have found wide circulation in college and city newspapers of the east to the effect that the University has accepted Tuesday, May 10, as the date for the triangular race between Princeton, Navy and the University, the crew management reiterated its statement that the University would not row on that date. No invitation has been received from Princeton for a race on that day, and should one be received it would have to be declined since the College Office would not consent to a trip in the middle of the week.
