Dr. Angell Chosen New Yale President

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dr. James Rowland Angell, A.M. '92, Professor of Psychology, and known as an administrator of exceptional ability, was chosen as President of Yale University at a meeting of the corporation on Saturday. He succeeds President Arthur T. Hadley, whose resignation last April has caused the Yale Corporation strenuous work over a period of ten months in choosing a successor. For the first time in its history Yale will have a chief executive who has not been connected with the university as a student, for Dr. Angell, a graduate of the University of Michigan, and the holder of an A.M. degree from the University, has never received a degree from Yale.
