The 1924 track team will have its first opportunity to show what it can do in the Interdormitory meet to be held this afternoon, commencing promptly at three o'clock. Entries in the Worcester Academy meet on Saturday will be based on the results of today's events. The events will be run in the following order: 45-yard hurdles, trials, 3 o'clock; 40-yard dash, trials, 3.10; mile run, 3.20; 45-yard hurdles, final, 3.30; 300-yard dash, trials, 3.35; 40-yard dash, final, 3.45; 1000-yard run, 3.50; 300-yard dash, final, 4.00; 600-yard run, 4.05. In the field events, the high-jump, shot-put, and pole-vault will be held simultaneously, at the same time as the track events, and the broad-jump will be held after these events are completed, in order to allow the sprinters to compete.
All Freshmen to Report
All the Freshmen who have been reporting for track practice, regardless of whether they have signed up in the blue books which have been posted, will be expected to run. It is hoped that as many other men as possible will run, as one of the objects of the meet is to give Coach Bingham a chance to get some good new material. More men, especially football men, are wanted for the shot-put, and other field events, as it is in these events that the Freshman team is weakest.
Percy Jenkins '24 of Quincy has been elected acting captain of the 1924 team for the remainder of the indoor season. Jenkins played on the football team last fall, and ran on the 1924 relay team.
