Enrollment Barely Misses Thousand Mark-Seventy-seven Percent Come From Outside New England-180 Colleges Represented

Barely missing the thousand mark the enrollment in the Law School is now 998, which exceeds by 53 the record enrollment of last year. Figures compiled by the Law School show that in the goographical distribution of the students there has been little change. The percentage of student in the entering class who come from outside New England continues to increase steadily, following the general trend in the direction for the past decade, and reaching in this year's entering class 77 percent. Anotindication of the broad appeal of the school is the fact that its thousand students represent 180 different colleges and universities.

The high percentage of students from outside of New England has been the result of a steady increase. The class of 1921 entered with 27 percent of its members from Massachusetts, 18 percent from New England outside of Massachusetts, and 55 percent from outside of New England. The following year 18 percent of the class came from Massachusetts, 11 percent from New England outside of Massachusetts, and 71 percent form outside of New England. The 1923 class drew 14 percent from Massachusetts, 10 percent from New England outside of Massachusetts, and 76 percent from outside of New England, while the present entering class has 17 percent from Massachusetts, only 6 percent from New England outside of Massachusetts, and a high water mark of 77 percent from outside of New England.

One hundred and twelve colleges and universities are represented in the present first-year class. The University leads all other colleges with a representation of 72, while Yale and Princeton come with 24 and 18 respectively.
