Once a Harvard man always a Harvard man. The broader point of view, the mannerisms of speech, indifference of all these are said to mark the Harvard type. But these are characteristics more common to the college, man in general. Would you know how to detect the true Harvard man? Watch him at his meals.

Does he at dinner parties snatch his fork from his plate as the waitress removes it, thus assuring himself of a complete equipment when his desert is served? If so there is no more room for doubt. There is your Harvard man.

Of his four years at college he only spent one in the Freshman Dormitories. But that one year was enough to make him forever a marked man.
