Nearly a hundred percent increase is shown in this year's enrollment in the Military Science Department of the University over that of last year. The students enrolled in the Department number 215, of whom twenty will probably receive commissions as reserve officers at the end of the year.

At Yale and Princeton the men receiving military instruction total 239 and 265 respectively, an increase over last year of about sixty percent in each case. The large number of men enrolled in the Military Science Departments of these two universities may be accounted for by the fact that they compete in the intercollegiate polo contests.
