8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
There will be a meeting of the University Circulo Espanol in Conant Hall Common Room tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock. Plans for the year will be discussed. The Circulo this year is extending its activities to include talks on commercial relations between the Spanish-American countries and the United States. A series of lectures is planned, to be given by prominent bankers and merchants of Boston, whose addresses will be in English.
Shortly after the Christmas vacation a talk, illustrated with lantern slides, will be given in the Union by L. J. Castillejo 2G. He will speak on "The Phillippine Islands and Their Relation to the United States."
On Wednesday, January 11, there will be a reception for the Radcliffe Circulo Espanol, probably to be held in the Union. There will be a short modern Spanish play, followed by dancing.
The club is changing its former policy somewhat, and is now planning to carry on its business in English during the first part of the year, leading gradually up to the entire use of Spanish in the meetings. Members will have a chance to meet the consuls of the Latin American countries in Boston.
Continuing the practice of the club in the past, it will try to interest students in Spanish culture. There will be discussions of current events in Spain and the Spanish-American countries, and every effort will be made to keep up interest in Spanish literature, art, and history of Spain.
