Among other distinguished visitors stopping in Cambridge over the weekend was General Hilarity. His first appearance was at the Copley, where in spite of the somewhat stringent regulations he appears to have had a pleasant time; inspired by the victory and "the crimson hue of the evening sky" (see any newspaper), be was prevailed upon to take part in a scrimmage at the Colonial Theatre; and it is believed that he dined incognito at the Waldorf at an early hour Sunday. The old gentleman finally found the excitement a bit too much for his and is now resting quietly.
There is one fly in the ointment, however. The General's secretary states that the old man is unable to remember what he has done with his hat. The secretary is of the opinion that in the excitement of the moment the General may have tossed it over the goal post, but the latter is unable to confirm this. Furthermore there are two hats on the rack which the secretary feels confident do not belong to the General. What to do?
Fortunately we undergraduates are well acquainted with this situation, so that the spectacle of the General peering anxiously from beneath the folds of an over sized hat should excite scarcely a second glance. For we too must stand in line at August's, unless by fraud or violence we can come at our pristine headgear. For those who would rather trust wit than muscle, the CRIMSON has devised a method of procedure, the mechanism of which is set forth in the news columns. We have had our mass meetings, we have had our victory; let us have co-operation--and our hats.
