GYM TEAM CANDIDATES TO BEGIN PRACTICE SOON

Both University and Freshman Squads to Meet in Hemenway November 28--Assistant Manager Candidates to Meet November 22

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A call has been issued for candidates for the position of assistant manager of the University Gymnastic Team. They are requested to meet on Tuesday, November 22, in Randolph 58. The competition, which will last about four weeks, will consist of the direction of practices and office work.

The candidates for the team itself, both University and Freshman, will meet in the Hemenway Gymnasium on Monday, November 28. Thereafter practices will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 4.30 to 6.30 o'clock, and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 o'clock. Mr. H. B. Seikel, who coached the team last year, will not be able to do so this, because of the pressure of other affairs. This year's coach has not yet been appointed.

The schedule for the season is fuller than last year's and includes meets with Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, M. I. T., Navy, and possibly with Haverford College. Besides these there will be exhibitions at Y. M. C. A.'s in Boston, Cambridge, and Waltham, and together with the M. I. T. teams, at Exeter and Andover.

The prospects of the team are good, with the following regulars returning: M. H. Bailey Jr. '23, captain, flying rings and horizontal bar; F. J. Wells '23, Indian clubs; L. H. Nichols '22, side horse and flying rings; H. A. Wood Jr. '24, parallel bars; A. W. Dole '24, flying rings and tumbling; J. K. Bragger '22, flying rings and Indian clubs; F. K. Safford '23, horizontal bar and tumbling; N. Tuttle '24, horizontal bar; Blair-Smith '24, parallel bars.

K. C. Campbell '21, captain of last year's team, will assist in coaching the Freshman members of the squad. There will be a Freshman team, if there is sufficient material.
