The first meeting of the Modern Language Conference will be held in Conant Common Room, Monday evening at 8 o'clock. Professor C. H. Grandgent '83 will address the meeting and have as his subject "Dante: Philosopher and Scholar".
The Conference, organized more than twenty years ago by the instructors and students in the Modern Language Division of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, has served as an informal meeting ground for workers in the fields of modern languages and literatures. An opportunity is here provided for free discussion on talks and papers presented by the instructors and students. The range of topics offered is extremely wide and embraces at one time or another every phase of scholarly activity lying within the sphere of the conference. The variety of subjects handled serves to keep the workers in the various departments in touch with one another's work, while the informality of the meetings brings students and Faculty members into close personal contact.
