Coach Slattery devoted most of yesterday's drill to instructing his men in batting in preparation for today's practice game with the State Street Trust Company's nine. Players have had the tendency to be too stiff at the plate and Coach Slattery is working to improve their form and to loosen up their swing.
The practice closed with a short three inning contest between Teams A and B, the latter collecting fiveruns while holding Team A scoreless. J. M. Blair '23 and R. H. Keegan '23 were the battery for Team A, while T. F. Oakes '22 and L. C. Larrabee '24 composed the battery for Team B.
Although L. C. Larrabee was hit on the elbow by a pitched ball and forced to leave the game, he will probably play today against the State Street Trust Company nine. Coach Slattery will probably use a great many substitutes, in order to give as many players as possible a chance to show their worth.
