CROSS-COUNTRY MEN MEET

Captain Bemis and Coach Bingham Give Plans for Season--Interdormitory Meet for 1925 Thursday

There was a special meeting of the University and 1925 cross-country squads yesterday afternoon in the Locker Building. F. G. Bemis '22, captain of the University team, described the method of scoring, and emphasized the necessity for team-work. Coach W. J. Bingham '16 then outlined the plans for the coming season. There will be an Interdormitory meet on Thursday, October 6. Especial interest is attached to this meet in that it will be the first competition to determine the relative athletic standings of the three Freshman halls in the fall group of sports. The dormitory winning the most points in this group has its name engraved on the three bronze tablets, one for each hall, given by J. I. Straus '93 to encourage interdormitory athletics. Also the meet should bring to light the more promising material.

Despite the heavy rain, over 40 men reported for the meeting and the workout immediately following it. To date there are 50 candidates for the University team and 34 from 1925.
