VOLUNTEERS CROWD INTO MIFFLIN HALL TO HEAR LECTURE ON RAILROADS

MEETING TO BE HELD IN BRATTLE HALL TOMORROW

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Volunteers for service on the railroads in case of a strike filled Mifflin Hall to overflowing, yesterday afternoon when they were given their first lecture on the fundamentals of railroad work. The next meeting of men, interested in the work will be held tomorrow afternoon at 5.30 o'clock in Brattle Hall.

Sheets containing a summary and review of the railroad rules, signals and duties that every man working on the road must know were distributed yesterday. So many were present that the several hundred pamphlets provided by the railroad were not sufficient to supply all the men.

Mr. McKenney, Chief Examiner of the Boston and Maine Railroad, went over to detail the contents of these leaflets, explaining all technical terms. In addition to these sheets a copy of the official rule book of the road will be given to every man.
