The University soccer team will face the Ar herst eleven at 3 o'clock on Soldiers Field with two of its strongest men missing, both Captain C. W. Heath '22 and A. J. Byington '24 being unable to play on account of injuries. Nevertheless Coach Burgess has confidence that the Crimson players will show up favorably in the opening contest, offering a stiff defence to the powerful Amherst forwards.
Yesterday afternoon a light scrimmage was held for three-quarters of an hour. Coach Burgess refrained from giving the men any heavy work in order that the team might be fresh for today's game. The line-up was not announced, but 14 men from the squad have been chosen, from whom the team will be selected today. L. F. Brigham '24 will play goal;. the beacks will be chosen from A. K. Murray '23, H. L. Williams '23, J. M. Begg '24, and L. C. Keyes '24; the forwards will be picked from Harry Eldrige '24, K. W. Heizer '23, K. I. Hutchinson '24, Corliss Lamont '24, John Pallo '23, J. M. Phillips '22, and W. N. Tuttle '24.
