Yesterday marked the completion of practically all the fourth round in the singles of the University Fall Tennis Tournament. Today will see the rest of the fourth round completed and a good start made in the fifth round. In the doubles the second round has been nearly finished and several matches have been played in the third round.
The matches played yesterday resulted as follows:
Fourth Round.--L. D. Hill '22 defeated J. P. Pollard 2L., 6-1, 9-7; T. S. Rosen '25 defeated O. Williams '22, 6-2, 6-1; F. M. Bundy 1L. defeated H. L. Kempner '24, 6-1, 6-3; J. D. Dubois '24 defeated J. McKnight 2L., 6-2, 7-5; Morris Duane '23 defeated J. G. Beebe-Center, 6-1, 6-0; D. P. Robinson 2ES. defeated R. C. Angell '25, 6-1, 6-4; J. M. Cabot '23 defeated A. Wright, 6-1, 8-6, W. G. Baltimore '25 defeated P. C. Young, 6-1, 6-2; W. F. Ingraham '25 defeated E. K. Davis '24, 6-1, 6-0.
The Doubles Tournament (First Round).--Cummings and Davis defeated Darrow and Black by default; Wilder and Davis defeated Lumbard and Cohn; Hopkins and Harkins defeated J. M. Lincoln and P. Lincoln, 6-3, 6-3; Barker and Martin defeated Macpherson and Bennett, 6-2, 6-3; Waterman and Gardner defeated Milels and Fickinger; Guild and Dell defeated Carson and Shagan.
Second Round--Hoppe and Brubacher defeated Sears and Noyes, 6-3, 7-5; Hill and Briggs defeated Stralem and Rouillion 6-2, 6-1; Helm and Hyams defeated Townsend and Hope by default; Hoskins and Bailey defeated Stern and Nesbit, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2; Whitehouse and Duncan defeated Davis and Langeathal by default; Hill and Butman defeated Steres and partner by default; Warren and Swift defeated Clemenco and Quel, 6-3, 6-1; Hesseltine and Carlson defeated Baldwin and Hamilton by default; Farnham and Farnham defeated Ross and Heustin, 6-1, 6-1.
Third Round--Duane and Ingraham defeated Hoskins and Bailey, 6-1, 6-1; Banes and Smith defeated Harrington and Finker by default; Swift and Warren defeated Hill and Butman by default.
