ORGANIZE NEW LIBERAL SOCIETY

Formed as Result of Series of Conferences Held at New York Last Week

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

As the result of a series of conferences held in New York last Saturday and Sunday between members of the executive committees of the Intercollegiate Socialist Society, Young Democracy, and student representatives of eight universities, it was decided to form a new intercollegiate liberal organization. To further this purpose a committee consisting of students from Columbia, New York University, Princeton, Radcliffe, and the University was appointed which will call an organizing convention during the second week in March. At this time it is hoped that a representative group of students will gather to draw up a constitution, choose a name, and decide the policies of the new society. Every college and university within a day's travel of New York will be invited to take part in the convention.

The general purpose of the organization will be to promote the discussion and study of current theories and movements for the economic and political reorganization of society, and to develop democratic principles in industry, education, government, and international affairs.
