M. A. C. FILLS OPEN DATE TOMORROW NIGHT

UNIVERSITY SCRIMMAGES M. I. T.

Massachusetts Agricultural College will fill the open date on the University hockey schedule tomorrow night, meeting the Crimson players in the New Boston Arena at 8.15 o'clock. Until yesterday afternoon it was expected that the St. Paul's School team might be able to make the trip down to meet Coach Claflin's men, but since that proved inadvisable, M. A. C. was signed.

The contest will open a series of fast games at the new Arena this week. The Dartmouth squad will arrive in time to take on Boston College Thursday evening, preparatory to meeting the University on Saturday. Friday is reserved for a game between the speedy B. A. A. aggregation and the Boston Shoe Trades six. Tonight the Arena surface will be the scene of a skating carnival for the benefit of the Radcliffe Endowment Fund.

The Agricultural hockey machine is reported to be the strongest in years. Only in the second over-time session was the Dartmouth College outfit able to tally past Newell, the M. A. C. goal-tend, in a close tilt at Hanover last Saturday. Elton Mansell, coach and rover on the Agricultural team, Captain Justin McCarthy, and Collins, point, are all former Arlington players, while Newell was prominent at Newton High.

Half an hour of nip-and-tuck scrimmaging between the University squad and the M. I. T. skaters featured the practice period yesterday afternoon. No score was registered throughout, frequent substitutions being made on both sides. The McNeil brothers, Dan and Neil, the former at center and the latter at point in the Tech line-up, promise plenty of trouble for the Crimson team when the two teams meet in a regular set-to on February 18. Captain Du Vernet at cover-point and William Caldwell at right wing also put up an aggressive game and will have to be reckoned with.
