Because of the weak offensive work shown by the forwards in the recent Worcester Polytechnic game, Coach Wachter has made a shift in the University basketball line-up which faces the veteran Middlebury quintet this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Hemenway Gymnasium. J. Pallo '23 is taking the place of A. E. McLeish '23 at left forward because he seems to fit better than the latter in the teamwork of the five. Although not as fast as McLeish, Pallo-mixes in the play more and is an accurate shot from the foul line. The rest of the line-up will be the same as usual except that H. E. Feiring '23 may replace S. B. Chase '21 in the backfield.
Last night the Middlebury team held a fast workout in the Hemenway. The entire team is composed of veterans, with the exception of Hardy, who transferred this fall from Springfield Y. M. C. A. College. The Crimson guards will have their hands full this afternoon in cheeking the efforts of Davis, center, and Captain Heath, guard, who have both had four years experience. So far this season the Middlebury players have defeated the Albany Law School by a score of 38-29 and have been turned back by Dartmouth to the tune of 31-19.
A game has been scheduled for the 1924 outfit on Saturday with Worcester North High School.
