The Library has lately received, through the generosity of Mr. Percy S. Straus '97, of New York, a most interesting original document connected with the early history of the College, the original subscription paper of the Town and Church of Concord, Mass., in which the several residents pledged themselves to give collectively five pounds a year for the support of the College for seven years, and it is signed by twenty-five or thirty of the inhabitants of Concord at that time.
