The team which will represent the University in the prone shooting in the National Rifle Association tournament in the first week of February, has been selected and consists of the following men, arranged in the order of their rank in the contest just completed: S. K. Bolton '21, C. J. Young '21, Stephen Wheatland '21, Arthur Rotch '21, H. H. Fuller '23, W. B. Darling '22, A. L. Jacobs '22, E. G. Lund '23, H. C. Stetson '23, W. H. Forbes '23, J. B. Paine '23. Substitutes, Donald Maxwell '23, G. G. Monks '21, Geoffrey Bolton '23, W. G. Gutter '22.

The tournament will start in the first week of February, and will continue for about ten weeks. It will differ from those of previous years in two respects. In the first place the scoring will be on a basis of five hundred instead of on a basis of one thousand as it used to be. The second difference is that the shooting will be from prone and standing positions on alternate weeks, which will necessitate a standing as well as a prone team.

The prospects this year are very goo, for many of last year's team are back, and so far the shooting has been much better this year than for a similar period last year, when the University won 15 out of 18 matches.

Work was started last week on the new range to be built in the basement of Persis Smith Hall, and it will probably be ready for use in about two weeks. The electrical equipment for carrying the targets is the gift of Mr. Owen D. Young. This new range will be a great help to the team because it will obviate the necessity of the men going to the public range on Huntington avenue and will thus save both time and expense.

The schedule of the team, which will include matches will organizations not in the N. R. A., will be announced within the next few days.

The Freshman team has also been chosen and it consists of the following men, listed in the order in which they are ranked in the competition: F. T. Potter '24, J. B. Begg '24, J. P. Monke '24, A. D. Best '24, Harry Eldridge '24, George Carpenter '24, S. G. Houghton '24, C. F. Howard '24, B. Stevens '24, F. A. Hoyce '24. Substitute, C. K. Pope '24.
