This afternoon at 3 o'clock, candidates for the University baseball squad will report to Coach Slattery for fall practice. Work-outs will be held every day until the weather forbids, and several games with Industrial League teams will be played. E. L. Bigelow '21, Captain R. W. Emmons 3d Occ., R. B. Shaw '21 and E. C. Lincoln '22, make up a veteran infield from last year's squad. In the outfield, L. A. Hallock '22 and F. W. Crocker '22 will be available this fall. J. S. Clark '23, outfielder, D. F. Thayer, former Freshman captain, R. Worthington '23, shortstop, and R. H. Keegan '23, catcher, are expected to strengthen next year's squad. A. Blair '21, last year's receiver, will again be the mainstay behind the plate. In the pitcher's box, E. F. Goode '22 and E. S. Hardell '21, "H" men, will be reinforced this fall by H. S. Russell '22, who did some excellent work on the second team last spring, and T. F. Oakes '23 and T. Anastas '23, substitute pitchers on last year's yearling squad. Due to the football season, A. J. Conlon '22 and H. C. Janin '22, "H" men, C. C. Buell '23 and C. C. Lee '23, mainstays of the 1923 infield, will not be available this fall.
